NEW RECRUITS (Session 6)
The valley at the foot of the Moonsfall Mountains is cloaked in a thin gauze of smoke from the many fires burning in the village of Naarash. Fire places are kept stoked to fight off winter’s chill throughout the night and the kitchen’s fires work all day to feed the 500 cultists who toil from dusk to dawn. The PCs headed to the comptroller’s office at the end of their first day to receive their assignments for the following morning. A vacant ruined structure on low rise provided the characters a place to call their own for the night, even if the broken walls did little to protect them from the cold wind. They had promised Emesha they would discover what happened to Jaryn, but so far they lacked any real clues to his fate. All they knew was that they were in the one place that their friend was headed and answers were probably to be found in temple.
AMONG THE WOLVES (Session 5)
Having rescued the villagers from the Cultist’s attack, the PC’s climbed aboard Glasur’s moonboat to continue on to the Pillars of Night. The days have turned even cooler as the season moves further toward winter and the cold wind blowing over the fast moving river has the passengers chilled to the bone. In need of a warm fire and a break from constant motion of the boat, the character’s pulled into a small cove to camp for the night. Berend joined Glasur on deck for a nightcap as Tavar took first watch next to the feeble fire on the bank. Just as Thia andMogryn began to dose off, a lone figure jumped out the darkness.
THE DEAD MARCH (Session 4)
Two Doppelgangers lay dead in the ancient shrine after the ambush. One of the assassins escaped into the night but Mogryn quickly found its scent and tracked it through the woods. Two horses were discovered tethered to some trees and Mog found clear signs a third horse carried the surviving doppelganger to safety. The party quickly mounted up, and now with seven captured horses in tow, rode off to pursue their attacker. It wasn’t long before Mog lost the trail while trying to track on horseback in the dark of night. The characters decided to give off pursuit and settle down to a fire-less night.
HOT ON THE TRAIL (Session 3)
The characters wake up the next morning after spending a chilly night in Vendar’s small barn. It doesn’t take long for everyone to realize that Remmy is not in the barn. Mogryn easily follows his trail outside and finds signs on where the boy had stood to relieve his bladder on the side of the barn. Looking around, the gnoll noticed the young rogue didn’t walk back to the barn nor did he walk into the small village. It was if he vanished in thin air. A closer inspection at the spot where Remmy had stood revealed signs he was either startled or possibly…something lifted him into the air?
A FRIEND IN NEED (Session 2)
The party traveled south from Fallcrest for a week, deep into the borderlands, to reach the village of Riverfield on Harvest 26th. Weary from the long journey and soaked by the rain, the party made its way into the small village which had now been swollen by refugees from the outlying lands. The darkness and quiet of the village and camp were disrupted by cultists who were attacking and terrorizing the refugees. The cultist obviously didn’t expect to encounter much resistance, but they fought to the death anyway.
A REUNION OF SORTS (Session 1)
The smooth taste of ale barely made it to your lips before you received the urgent message about your old friend in trouble. Erandil Zemoar, the proprietor of the Nentir Inn in Fallcrest, was gracious enough to let you get settled in and quench your thirst before bringing you the news. In any case, it’s nice to be back home, if you can call a room at the Inn a home. Even Vanadir’s songs seem especially comforting after the last few weeks sleeping in the woods or in dank caverns. Janyr was one of the original group and his leaving was a bit of an awkward moment. He had fallen for a devote cleric of Pelor and did a complete turnabout in a manner of days. His life was completely changed and you wondered if it was for the better. But many fond memories of the fighter have outlasted his many quirks. For better or worse and one way or another, there is a desire to find out what he has been up to these last few years.
